Hollywood condiers changes in DRM to allow managed copying.

Looks like the movie industry is reconsidering the current DRM and "managed copying" for private use.  Dan Glickman, head of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), said that he would like to see copying for private use for HD DVD as well as standard DVDs by the end of the year.  This would allow backups for hard drives as well as Apple TV.  No one involved with this decision seems to be backing down on DRM, long viewed with disdain by many consumers, but they do recognize that the current system is just not working and as more devices come to the market capable of playing diverse media content, they are seeking options to allow legitimate consumers a more hassle-free experience.
