GristyMcFisty used our news submit to tell us about this interesting story at the Inquirer, that speaks about issues with a new type of DRM for downloaded movies legally dowloaded from CinemaNow, called FluxDVD. According to the report, the protection may be causing some playback issues due to too many unreadable sectors being placed on discs burned from files using the protection.
However,
if you have the latest versions of Clone DVD and AnyDVD, then there seems to be no worries, as these softwares are able to strip out the troublesome bad sector protection scheme. But, should a customer have to take such steps to play a movie that was legally purchased? This doesn't seem right, to have to purchase a software to remove something stopping customers legally burned DVDs from playing! Maybe some refunds are due!

Yes, the DRM punishment of valid paying customers is not a problem for people who don"t want to pay, driving home the point that paying for movies still gets you a worse experience for more money. When will the studios learn that a reasonably priced item without punishing their customers with DRM is the way to go? Luckily, Slysoft can help legit customers. In this case, all the reports I have read said that FluxDVD puts so many errors on a burned disk, for your protection of course, it is borderline unplayable with all but the best DVD players. Thank you sir, may I have another? Luckily, legitimate buyers can use AnyDVD coupled with CloneDVD to make a clean copy of their legitimately bought movies, and watch without stuttering. ### End of Register Article###
