Imation Corp expanded its full portfolio of removable hard disk drive (RHDD) solutions by announcing the general availability of the Imation RDX(R) Removable Hard Disk Storage System, a removable hard disk solution that provides easy and reliable backup, data security and expandable storage for small- to-medium (SMB) sized businesses. Imation's comprehensive RDX Removable Hard Disk Storage System includes:
- Choice of an external USB or internal SATA docking station
- USB or SATA cable
- External universal power supply cable (for USB docking station only)
- Imation RDX cartridge
- EMC(R) Retrospect(R) backup software
- RDX system utility software
Imation RDX cartridges contain a 2.5-inch hard disk drive and offer protection against both shock and electrostatic discharge (ESD). To a host computer, an RDX cartridge backs up like a traditional tape cartridge, yet offers the advantages of disk-to-disk storage, including high performance and a low-failure rate. Imation's rugged RDX cartridges -- available in 40, 80, 120 and 160GB capacities -- are built to withstand a fall from one meter and remain intact and fully functional.
In addition, Imation coupled its RDX system with EMC Retrospect software, making it even easier for users to protect their data. The award-winning software installs in minutes and delivers fast backups, accurate restores and full disaster recovery with minimal manual effort or expertise.
