Gil T Pleasure used our news submit to tell us "According to the article, they will be available next month and cost slightly higher than regular discs."
These new discs will be sporting an additional coat of polymer to give them this extra durability. So this explains the higher cost as polymer is a bit expensive right now. But, if you want to archive critical data or even favorite photos, it's probably worth the money.
