Intersil has announced it will start the shipment of laser drivers for 52x drives. As the company only sell the laser drivers, that have to be implemented by the drive manufacturers later in the production process, this is the forecast of 52x CD-RW drives appear on the market. The latest laser drivers of Intersil also support read speeds of 52x.
The EL622XC family adds to Intersil's market-leading portfolio of CD and DVD recordable products and gives original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) a quick upgrade path to higher speed, higher performance CD-R and CD-R/W drives," said Stephen P.
