InterVideo Announces Faster, More Flexible 3-Step DVD Copy 2 Software; Merges Multiple DVD Titles Onto a Single 4.7GB DVD, Enables Broad Customization of DVD/CD/VCD/DivX Videos

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 11, 2004--InterVideo, Inc. (Nasdaq:IVII) announced today InterVideo DVD Copy 2(TM) Platinum and Gold editions, the latest releases of its award-winning software for making identical copies of personal DVD and CD videos in just three easy steps. Now up to 25 percent faster, DVD Copy 2 duplicates unencrypted(1) DVDs, VCDs and SVCDs with no loss of quality, content or features. InterVideo's new DVD Copy 2 software includes more robust customization features for creating personalized DVDs. The Platinum version also includes a merging feature that enables users to combine multiple DVD titles on one 4.7GB DVD, complete with automatic menu generation for easy navigation.

DVD Copy 2 incorporates InterVideo's superior codec, which has a proven track record for quickly delivering true, high-quality copies. The software's performance is also enhanced with direct burn capabilities that saves time and enable users to copy directly from the source to a blank disc without having to buffer the video to the hard drive first.

Unique to InterVideo is the Multiple DVD Merging feature that can be used to conveniently group DVD videos of vacations, birthdays, a child's entire soccer season or other special events onto a single DVD. By designing this feature with automatic menu generation, InterVideo makes the entire process fast and easy.

The quality, speed and the convenience that DVD Copy 2 provides are complemented with a rock-solid, wizard-like interface that even a novice can use to create identical duplicates of personal videos in just three easy steps. Users simply select the source, destination (CD-R/RW, DVD+/-R/RW/-RAM disc or hard drive) and the video output format (DVD, VCD, SVCD, DivX(R), or M-DVD). When the user clicks on the burn button, the software's powerful Autofit feature automatically determines how much compression is needed to produce the best-looking results for the output selected. With this feature, users can make copies of dual-layer DVD-Videos onto a single blank DVD without any visual quality loss. The Autofit feature can also be used with the software's support for the DivX format to fit a DVD video onto a single DivX CD.

By incorporating direct, disc-to-disc recording capabilities, backup copies of personal video collections can be created in minutes to protect them from damage or loss. Consumers who don't own a DVD burner can use DVD Copy 2 to backup their DVD-Videos to CDs in the VCD, SVCD or DivX CD format. The discs can be played back by most set-top DVD players and computer CD-ROM drives in use today.

With DVD Copy 2's easy-to-use editing tools, consumers can tailor home videos for sharing and businesses can quickly customize marketing and training videos. After copying a DVD-Video to their PC's hard drive in the MPEG-1, MPEG-2 or DivX format, users simply click on the software's Customize Button to add and delete chapters, remove subtitles and audio tracks or change the aspect ratio. By including InterVideo's revolutionary UniPass(R) technology, DVD Copy 2 users do not need to re-render videos that have simple editing fixes because the technology integrates DVD creation and editing together. This can save hours of time when making copies.
