Iomega has announced their new DVR expander drive that will give users an extra of 500GB storage capacity. The company's new expander drive will work together with Scientific Atlanta DVRs and TiVo and is priced at $199, which is exactly the same as its competitor Western Digital.
It seems recording programs on your DVR becomes more popular by the day and the consumer isn't stopping this copying spree, thinks Iomega. But if you keep copying you will eventually have to delete something, right? "Everyone loves their DVRs and watching television on their own schedule, but I don't know anyone who likes being forced to delete programming to record some more," said Iomega's global manager for hard drive products Ralf San Jose, in a statement.
"With the new Iomega DVR Expander Drive, you get a massive capacity increase for your DVR with no installation hassles." The expander drive works with an eSATA connection and can easily transfer at 1.5GBps and should be able to record 300 hours of standard definition TV and 60 hours of HD programming.
