Is High-Definition not enough?

The winner of the war between High Definition (HD) formats Blu-ray and HD-DVD is not yet in sight, but it seems that both can become obsolete soon.

According to a news published at Crave C|NET, Sharp produced an Ultra High Definition 64" LCD screen with the amazing resolution of 4,000 x 2,000 pixels, which basically gives it a resolution of 8.8 megapixels.

To have a comparison, the current best resolution for HD contents, i.e. 1080p, has a resolution of "just" 2 megapixels. Is this a sign that a new optical storage format will be announced soon?
