Thanks to TheOnlyBob, who submitted this news, we can read an interesting article on the Music Industry News Network website. The article is about 'JAM Records' breaking ground by providing its artists with an "Artist Bill of Rights" so that recording artists finally get what they are looking for and deserve:
The "Artist Bill of Rights" includes: (1) Larger participation in the profits, (2) transparent accounting, (3) complete creative license, (4) one album at a time contracts, and (5) enhanced marketing and distribution. |
JAM Records is scheduled to release two albums in the first quarter of next year, which will include some of the biggest names in the industry, and is rapidly signing established artists. To fund these new acquisitions, JAM has retained C. K. Cooper & Company in Irvine, California.
Well to me it sound like a perfect solution. Currently artist aren't getting enough money from their record companies and album prices are simply too high. Maybe this 'Artist Bill of Rights" will help decrease the price. Read the full article here.
