JVC has just announced that it's planning to launch the world's thinnest 1080p HDTV. The actual launch is planned next month and there will be both a 42-inch and 46-inch version costing $1899 and $2400.
At its deepest both the LT-42SL89 and the LT-46SL89 are 2.9 inches deep and are equipped with new backlight panelling, says Afterdawn.com. Of course each is capable of offering full 1080p HD.
The two new TVs are part of the new Procision line and the new technologies show we can expect more thin TVs from JVC. "The backlight is 40 percent slimmer than the old panel, and weighs in at 26.5lbs while consuming 145W. The slimmer backlight was made possible not with more parts but with a more efficient integration of them," JVC says.
Besides being thin and showing lower power consumption this JVC HDTV comes with three HDMI inputs, one S-Video input, two component inputs and one PC input.
