Due to a new German law
it has become illegal for German software developers to distribute software
that can circumvent copy-protections found on CDs and DVDs. However, the
Internet is worldwide and offers a possibility to distribute software via other
countries where other laws apply.
An example of this is the release of a new utility
called JackXXL, which was
reported to us by An
Chang. JackXXL is a patch for the German
software programs MovieJack and DCS - DVD Copy Suite. With this patch both
programs are able to copy CSS protected DVDs again:
it will be illegal to copy CSS protected dics. Here in Austria it is still legal, so I decided to offer a bunch of tools to remove any CSS problems for users. I have also made a patch for the products MovieJack and DCS - DVD Copy Suite so these two products can also copy CSS protected discs again. I will work on more links to help all users to avoid this stupid new copyright law. |
