ghetocowboy used our news submit to tell us about this story he
spotted over at Engadget: "The media will be launched 2 weeks after Toshiba
dual layer HD-DVD recorder, the RD-A1. I thought the HD DVD media are going to
be cheap and should edge out Blu-ray media in term of costs, but at $39, I would
rather buy a movie on HD-DVD instead, because it is cheaper. Prices like
this will deter piracy."
Fortunately, Mitsubishi also announced the first dual-layer HD DVD-R discs this morn" set to drop in Japan at the "end of July" for an estimated ¥4,500 (or about $39) |
