LAUNCH streams one billion music videos in first ten months of 2003

MP3 music is still hot
but music videos are too. According to Mi2N,Yahoo's
LAUNCH music video service
has streamed more than one billion videos to consumers this year. This
means that compared to the first 10 months of last year the amount of video
streams has quadrupled. This milestone for Yahoo underscores the increasing
popularity of the Internet as a medium for watching music videos. Once again our
thanks goes to GristyMcFisty for submitting this
news:

"As teens and young adults increasingly turn to the
Internet as their medium of choice, we feel there's great potential for
them to turn to LAUNCH for the music video content that they would
normally get on television," said David Goldberg, vice president and
general manager for Music at Yahoo!. "We are dedicated to giving music
fans a great user experience on LAUNCH and will continue to provide them
with access to the videos they want, when they want them."

In
addition to music videos, LAUNCH offers its rich media artist showcase,
Live@LAUNCH, where music fans get on-demand access to live performances
and interviews with today's hottest musicians and up-and-coming
artists.
