Since the start of high-definition and LCD TVs we've heard many stories surrounding its image quality. Some don't enjoy high-defintion while they own a HDTV, and now we've seen that refund rates are definitely increasing in North America. Despite serious price drops on LCD TVs in May, we now see people are more alert when critcising their TV's quality.
First-tier brand vendors lowered the prices of both 32-inch and 40-inch LCD TVs. This should've increased the sales volume, but now we see that the return rate on these TVs increased with 25-30%. Industry sources spoke with DigiTimes who believe the return rate increased because of the introduction of high-definition broadcasts.
Due to this introduction people can easily compare the resolution on their new LCD TV and decide right away. Insiders said that these low-priced products didn't immediately meet their original expectations.
