While at the 2005 CES, it was quite gratifying for us to see that optical storage was found in what seemed to be nearly every area of the show. The other thing that was obvious, was that the show was focused heavily on home entertainment. Everywhere we went we saw Plasma's, Projectors, LCD and Rear Screen displays.

Still it comes back to optical storage when you have to ask yourself, what good are these devices without a nice DVD player to showcase them?

LG had on display a nice variety of stand alone DVD players and recorders that may be of interest to our readers and forum members. Here are the specs on three different models designed for our living or entertainent rooms.

All of the recorders feature Dual Progressive Scan for highest picture quality with less annoying flicker. DVD as well as VCR can support progressive scan output. They all have multi-language support for English/ Spanish /French/ Portuguese, come with one DVD-RW media, remote controls and batteries. Unfortunately, pricing was not available at the time of the show and I was unable to discover further information on the LG website.
