LaCie unveils 4TB Biggest Quadra 4-disk RAID solution

You know the deal, every time you buy a bigger hard disk you think it will take lots of time before it's full. To only find out a few weeks later that you filled it faster than you anticipated. LaCie unveiled the Biggest Quadra, a quadruple interface, 4-disk RAID solution for creative workstations. This solution delivers data storage protection, massive 4TB (terabyte) capacity and universal compatibility through its FireWire 800, FireWire 400, USB 2.0 and eSATA interfaces.

The device supports RAID levels 0, 0+1 and 5, as well as RAID 5+hot spare so youcan choose which configuration is best-suited for you based on security, speed, capacity or a combination of the three.  If you really need that space, then be sure to start putting money aside. The LaCie Biggest Quadra will be available in September for 2TB and October for the 3TB and 4TB versions. Suggested retail price will be $1099 for 2TB, $1599 for 3TB and $2199 for 4TB.

Who thinks he needs that space and what for?
