Lite-On claims world's first AllWrite standalone DVD recorder

Lite-On IT has recently launched the LVW-5005 standalone DVD recorder and according to the company, the recorder is the world's first DVD recorder model capable of writing CD-R/RW discs. The current standalone DVD recorder models can only write to DVD media but this is no longer the case with Lite-On's "AllWrite" technology:

Sony was the first to offer a DVD recorder that can write to both DVD+R/RWs and DVD-R/RWs, now commonly called a DVD Dual model, Lite-On IT indicated. However, Lite-On It has implemented 'AllWrite" technology in the LVW-5005, making it capable of writing to CD-R/RW discs in addition to DVD Dual, the company pointed out.
