In our CeBIT coverage we already mentioned that Lite-On would release two new DVD-players, the PhoMaster LVD-2001 and the LVR-1001. According to the company the LVD-2001 is the first player to support the MPEG-4 format:
|  The company claimed that the LVD-2001 is the first DVD player worldwide capable of playing back MPEG 4-formatted video CDs, based on LSI Logic's DVD&MORE (DVD and Multimedia Optical Recording Entertainment) platform. The LVR-1001, with separate DVD and CD-RW drives, allows high-speed disc duplication.

The Lite-On LVD-2001 is retailing at $ 418 USD and the LVR-1001 is retailing at about $ 196 USD in Taiwan. According to the article Lite-On said it will launch four other models later this year.
