LiteOn releases new firmwares for LDW-451S and LDW-851S

Thunderace1k and code65536 both reported to us that Lite-On has released new firmware versions for the LDW-451S and LDW-851S DVD recorders. These new firmware versions will allow you to modify the BookType setting of a DVD+R(W) disc. A while ago Lite-On already released new firmware versions for their other DVD recorders, the LDW-411S and the LDW-811S, which added the same BitSetting support. Here is the official changelog for the new firmware versions. Note that Lite-On has actually put together a complete text instead of a single line of text or the famous "match more media" changelog 😉

Most DVD players that can't read DVD+RW or DVD+R discs are the older models. This version firmware allows users to modify the BookType setting of a DVD recordable media, thus enhancing the media read compatibility in older DVD playback devices.
