MET Technology introduces two CyQ've stand-alone DVD recorders

Digitimes reports that MET Technology has introduced two
stand-alone DVD recorders. MET Technology is selling their products under
the CyQ've brand, and the two devices should be very competitive with other
likewise products. Estimated is that the company almost halves the prices of
competitors.

Both of
the products support the DVD+R and DVD+RW formats. The PV2400i is priced
higher than the PV2400ie as it features an IEEE 1394 port and 5.1-channel
output.

Since most DVD recorders sold in Taiwan are priced between
NT$40,000-50,000, MET expects to seize 50% of the local DVD recorder
market with monthly sales of 1,500 units in the fourth quarter, according
to the company.

Currently the products will only be available in Taiwan, later in China,
other countries/continents have not been schedulded yet. Both drives feature
DVD+R(W) recording.
