Does MGM owe you some money? Apparently, some disgruntled customers determined that Metro Goldwyn Mayer or MGM got the wide-screen measurements on over 300 movies wrong, and it affected the way the movie looked on TV screens. So they filed a class action suit against the movie giant and low and behold...they won!
Specifically, if you purchased one or more of the eligible movies between December 1, 1998 to September 8, 2003, certain MGM widescreen DVDs (DVDs for films shot in the aspect ratio of 1.85 to 1 or 1.66 to 1) will bring you a new movie or $7.10US. A sales receipt is not needed.
| Consumers who bought any of the 325 DVDs that may have the wide-screen defect can file a claim to get a replacement DVD or a refund of $7.10 per movie on the list. The consumer had to have purchased the DVD between December 1, 1998, and Sept. 8, 2003. |
Ooooh, that lion looks upset! Class members who submit "timely and valid" claim forms may exchange each Eligible DVD for a new MGM DVD from a list of the 325 titles or $7.10. To request a Claim Form, call 1-800-285-2168 (toll free). Before requesting a Claim Form, please verify that your DVD is an Eligible DVD by reviewing the Eligible DVD List.
