GristyMcFisty used our news submit to tell us that the folks over at the Register ave heard thet the MPAA is about to go on the warpath against the pesky pirates that are stealing movies on P2P. Well, they already have been, but I guess they are going to get more aggressive and pick up the pace more in line with the RIAA. They reckon 150,000 flicks are traded each day in the devils digital playground, the United States of America.
You can read the entire lengthy article here. Oddly, the Register thinks that the MPAA has nothing to worry about with file swappers. Of course what I am interested in is who gets busted and on what file sharing system. Seems to me, or so I have heard- that huge movie files are best found on BitTorrent. It will be interesting to see if anybody gets popped using this method of file sharing. I would think not. Time will tell I suppose, possibly as early as next week we can get some more information. They will of course need a judges permission to identify the scofflaws. Therefore they must have quite a bit of evidence to show the courts!
Wonder what kinds of setlements we will see accepted by the Hollywod moguls, or will they even be open to settlements like the RIAA? Because now, a lot of time and money must be spent to expose the file sharers with a so called John Doe warrant.
