MS trains legal guns at Lindows

The most hated Operating System creator in the world now has made a move to
stop another OS from being created under it's current name LindowsOS. Although seeing this
article myself, SaTaN used the news submit so I will give him some deserved credit.

Microsoft has unleashed its lawyers against Lindows -because the name of the
titchy software firm is too similar to Windows.

Customers could
"mistakenly conclude that the Lindows product was exclusively or jointly
developed by, licensed or certified by, or otherwise sponsored or approved by
Microsoft," the company says in a suit alleging trademark infringement.

Lindows is the developer of LindowsOS, a Linux distro which also runs
Windows apps. The app is still at the vapourware stage...

In my opinion, Microsoft has over stepped it's grounds on this one. Granted,
Lindows sounds like Windows and is spelled extremely close, hell just one letter
to be precise, but I cannot see their view as this does not infringe on their
trademark name (Windows not included in LindowsOS product name). As far as
customers confusing Lindows with Windows, I am willing to bet that the Lindows
box will not be as ugly or even near as ugly as the Windows Me or XP boxes so
that right there disassociates the product from being exclusively or jointly developed by,
licensed or certified by, or otherwise sponsored or approved by Microsoft
