Macrovision is obselete, Starforce (and Tages!?) can't be copied

I've spoken to more developers and according to all of them, there is sad news. There will be no software able to make a 1:1 copy of Starforce (and Tages!?) protected CDs.

Because the Starforce protection seems to depend on the CD pressing technique used in the manufacturering plant, it will need special media to make a backup or it will only run with an emulator enabled.

Also read this thread of the Deamon Tools forum, with the last posting made by the developer of the software:

What concerns StarForce it is not possible to burn even theoretically with any program or writer, unless you get special media which can be different for each title or even party of CDs of same title. So forget it. It can be only emulated.

Support for emulation from image will be included soon.

It also seems hard to be cracked, but for as far as I could read, this can be done. So just for the record, Starforce copies will not work on excisting CD-R(W) media.
