Mambo send us a press release of their latest product, the Mambo-X P209. This Mini MP3 CD player plays 8 cm CD-R's is very small and weights 175grams.
The P209 has a feature that should spare the batteries and has a 400 seconds anti-shock memory buffer that further reduce power consumption by not spinning the CD while playing back buffer.

The all-new, pocket-sized 8cm mini MP3 CD player plays standard music CDs and recordable CDs containing MP3 files ¡V making it possible to store and play more than 70 songs on a single 8cm CD. The Mambo-X 8cm P209 is even smaller than a 12cm (5-inch) CD and weight only 175g, small and light enough to fit comfortably in a pocket.
New technologies reduce the amount of power consumed while the all features are being used, plus the extra long 400 seconds anti-shock memory buffer that further reduce power consumption by not spinning the CD while playing back buffer
With two (2) AA Alkaline batteries, the device should be able to play 14+ hours; or even 25+ hours with two (2) AA NiMH rechargeable batteries.
