Matsushita launches global campaign for DVD-RAM Recorder

Matsushita, best known for its Panasonic brand, has announced it will launch a global campaign to market their latest DVD-RAM recorder, the DIGA. The campaign's aim is to promote the Panasonic DVD recorder DIGA series and DVD-RAM format as global standards and the campaign is Matsushita's largest ever. The company has attracted   Academy Award -winning filmmaker Oliver Stone to spread the word.

The campaign capitalizes on growing consumer acceptance of the DVD-RAM format as the de facto standard for video recording in the post-VHS era. The essence of Matsushita's message is that the DVD recorder DIGA--which uses the ultrahigh capacity DVD-RAM format--enhances performance, convenience and style, enabling viewers to enjoy whatever they like, whenever they like, with the greatest of ease.

" The new DVD recorder DIGA series provides a whole new way to enjoy the world of digital video entertainment," said Mr. Tokikazu Matsumoto, Business Unit Executive, Panasonic AVC Networks Company.

The campaign will run from June 2003 through May 2004, and will be implemented worldwide, with the exception of Japan and a few other areas. Panasonic has not contacted CD Freaks.com for an advertising campaign though 😉
