Medea International Ltd, the UK's leading
recordable optical recordable media company announced on 11th June 2003 the
acquisition of all the assets and business of Rocky Mountain Traders, the
creators of the PressIt® disc labelling system.
Medea International already have various brands in their portfolio, including Infiniti, Discplanet and Discrite. The acquisition of PressIt® is a natural progression into the associated disc labelling market, and PressIt® carries the international brand recognition to take the company to a wider audience in Europe and beyond. Medea are expected to announce a multitude of new accessory products carrying the PressIt® moniker within the next 12 months. All the current distribution channels will be maintained, as will all the current product lines in what is expected to be a smooth transition.
PressIt® were the inventors of the spring-loaded CD labelling system, and have effectively been the benchmark for CD labelling devices since their inception, and have developed a distribution network that extends from the USA to Australia, a blue-chip client base and a healthy reputation for product excellence.
Medea International recently moved premises into a 100,000 sq ft facility in the heart of Dunsinane Industrial Estate in Dundee, Scotland to facilitate their continued expansion since they were founded 4 years ago.
"It's a fantastic brand. The name is well known and well respected worldwide", said Mike Scott, National Sales Manager. "It is an excellent acquisition for Medea and with our background, we are sure we can take the company to new heights. Furthermore, there are more new and innovative products to come. We are just about to launch a new marketing initiative for the next generation PressIt® Platinum labelling device that will label 12cm, 8cm and even business card CD's, and we have already taken large orders for the new CDestroyer, a patented data security product specifically designed to make redundant CD-R completely unreadable and unrecoverable prior to disposal. We are very excited about the company's future prospects."
