With many opening 2008 speculating about everything, Microsoft now comes with a refreshing announcement. Microsoft's Kim says: 'Too soon to name console battle winner'. With this in the back of our mind the vice president of Microsoft Game Studios says more...
After NDP released the sales results in January, Microsoft claimed a supply issue. It was given to us as a 'good problem' to have and can be found in 360's hardware. Last Thursday it was also suggested that Kim said that all models and versions of the 360 had a shortage of supply. This problem is known as one of the factors for people saying that the Xbox will not finish in first place, with Nintendo winning with its Wii.
Currently these expectations are answered by Wii with the highest sales numbers, but Kim expects a 'Super Bowl finish', since everybody also expected 'The Patriots to win'. Kim also thinks that the Xbox 360 has a long life cycle, but not as long as the earlier estimated five years.
With all Kim's announcement we could say that we have a new insight, but what do the CDfreaks.com visitors think that will happen? In an earlier poll most of our visitors expect the Xbox to win. From all voters 1159 (36%) thought the Xbox would win, followed by Playstation 3 with 1107 voters (34%), and 962 (30%) for the Wii.
To conclude, our poll also shows that its too soon to declare a win, and that a small majority thinks the winner will be Microsoft.
