bcn_246 used our news submit to tell us that Microsoft's Anti-Malware team has gone public in their blog and they intend to remove Sony's rootkit DRM from Windows PC's when detected with an upcoming security software.
We have to give kudos to the Microsoft Anti-Malware team for taking a firm stance for the little guy out there and also for providing a tool to detect and stop this DRM. But, it really is no surprise, as this type of intrusion to their customers PC's can cause quite a security risk, if left to fester. Since the blog notification was posted on Saturday, it will be interesting to see if the Sony BMG Global Digital spin team, will come out with a press release on Monday and what they will have to say about this embarrassing development!
