Mitsumi has send us a press release announcing two new products. The DVD-ReWriter DW 5125 TE and the CD-ReWriter CR 485E TE. The DW 5125TE is able to write both DVDs and CD-Rs (12x) and is equipped with a 2 MB buffer and Buffer-Underrun Technology.
The CR 485E TE writes at 48x, rewrites at 12x and has a 2 MB buffer and Buffer-Underrun Technology. The drive is also able to read the data back at a maximum of 48x.

The new MITSUMI DVD-ReWriter DW 5125 TE is a dream come true for film and DVD buffs. DW 5125 TE owners can relax when it comes down to compatible formats. All standard DVD players and DVD-ROM drives are able to read data written by their MITSUMI DVD drive. The MITSUMI drive is ideal for storing large amounts of data considering its 4.7 GB capacity. But there is more. This truly attractive offer is rounded off by the fact that the drive is able to write standard CD-R and CD-RW media at 12x. The DW 5125TE comes equipped with a 2 MB buffer and high-performance Buffer-Underrun Technology.
CD-ReWriter CR 485E TE
The MITSUMI CD-ReWriter is the perfect choice for power-users, who are hungry for speedy and reliable writing. The low-cost 48x CD-R comes equipped with integrated Buffer-Underrun-Technology and a 2 MB buffer. This rules out a defective CD, should there be a cut in the power supply. Packet-writing fans will be impressed by the CR 485E TE's 12x CD-RW writing capabilities.
Both drives will be available from September. The 48x CDReWriter CR 485E TE is expected to cost 129,- euros and the DVD-ReWriter DW 5125 TE should retail at 349,- euros.
