ceminess used our newssubmit to tell us that the rumors regarding KaZaA Plus seem to be true. Earlier posted Zeropaid it found pictures in the KaZaA code that revealed a paid KaZaA version would be coming up.
Now the website NeoWin noticed that Sharman Networks has also opened a website for KaZaA Plus, that unfortunately seems to be down now. Here is what the website said:
Kazaa Plus is for the serious peer-to-peer user, who wants to get the most out of their file sharing. |
Advertisement Free:
With Kazaa Plus, the banners, pop-ups and promotional software which support the free version are not included. This gives you an interruption free experience that maximizes your bandwidth.
15x Search:
Kazaa allows more searching, which means that when you do an initial search you can get more results. With the regular version you can do 'Search More' twice. With Kazaa Plus, you can 'Search More' up to 15 times. This maximizes your chances of finding the file that you are after on the best connection possible. This is a very effective tool for the serious peer-to-peer user, improving speed and efficiency.
Donation Opportunity:
When you purchase your copy of Kazaa Plus, you will be given the opportunity to pay an additional US$0.50 which will be matched by Sharman Networks as a donation to the Kazaa Fund for UNICEF. This is completely optional.
All with all KaZaA is trying to have people pay for better service. It is however likely that if everyone is using these services the network would be seriously damaged, because it gives some extra network usage.
