NEC 2500A bit setting firmware has been released

J4M4L used our news submit to tell us that our forum moderator Herrie has released a firmware that makes it possible to set the bit setting for DVD recordables that have been burnt using a NEC ND2500A DVD recorder. By setting the bit type to DVD-ROM instead of DVD+R the DVD player is fooled and compatibility is enhanced on many DVD players. Also other companies have released similar tools, one of them is HP and the firmware of this drive has been used in changing the firmware for the ND2500A. Read more in our forum thread .
