3520A has received a firmware update to support DVD-R Dual Layer media. The
update follows other manufacturers such as BenQ, Plextor who add extra
format and speed support to their drives via firmware updates.
downside to the firmware is that multi-session disc support is not available on
DVD-R Dual Layer media. The current support for -R Dual Layer media only covers
Verbatim media and the max write speed for this media is 4x. The

The writing to -R dual layer media is quite slow compared to say plextor who
have been able to get 6x, maybe this will improve with further
updates.
