NEC ND-3540A drive on sale in the UK

Dee-27 used our news submit to tell us that the newest offering from NEC is available and already we have the NEC Forum busy with scans of a variety of media. Below, she gives us a good description of the drives capabilities:

There are units in stock around the Internet at Â£33 UK pounds plus VAT. The new drive supports the usual 16X read/write DVD-R and DVD+RDVD-RW write speeds of up to 6X and DVD+RW write speeds at up to 8X. CDR read/write at up to 48X. New in this drive is DVD+R DL at write speeds of up to 8X and support for DVD-R DL with write speeds of up to 6X. The drive also supports PI/PIF Disc Quality Scanning. Some early test results have already been posted in the NEC forum.
