Member of
our forums Scorpiosoft has posted a, what it looks like, leaked roadmap for
upcoming NEC drives. The roadmap shows the features of the 3520 and the 3540 but
more interestingly the features of an upcoming ND-4550A Super Multi DVD
recorder. This recorder will support 16x on DVD-R and DVD+R, 8x for DVD+RW, 6x
for DVD-RW and 16x recording on DVD-RAM. NEC will also release a slimline Super
Multi DVD recorder.
Another point of interest is that the roadmap lists a label
technology, obviously Lightscribe (LS) is probably one of them, the other
(LSS) could be a to be developed proprietary NEC label technology.
