More filesharing news today as Wiccabilly used our newssubmit to tell us some more about the new Napster. He writes:
Here's something that's not terribly new but I haven't seen on the site. Napster has been in beta for a while but it seems the beta test has entered a broader stage now. I'm on of "the few, the proud" who gets to give their credit card info and download songs in a proprietary format that I can't burn to CD without paying extra! It's a bitter irony how much the legalese resembles a RIAA press release... For those too naive to have given up hope, let me assure you, Napster is dead, cold, and rotting:
"You signed up as a beta tester a while ago, and now we need your help in trying out the new Napster, scheduled to launch a little later this year. Just click the link below, register a free account, download Napster, and start kicking the tires! The more you use the new software, the better the new Napster will be. |
Please keep in mind that during the beta, we've limited the amount of music on the network. The music available now is just a sample of what we'll have at launch.
Important: Even though the beta is free, you will need to provide a valid credit card number during registration to participate. This is so we can test our billing system. At the end of the beta period, you'll automatically roll into a free 30-day trial. "
Well, we are very curious about the new Napster, anyone that is beta testing and would like to share his experiences, please post below !
