According to a news published at computing news, Nero will release in early May in North and South America the stand alone version of BackItUp 2. According to the announcement, this version will be Vista-ready.
BackItUp 2 is able to save data to NAS (network attached storage) devices, but also on other network storage solutions such as Windows network shares and FTP servers. Backups can also be saved on optical media formats, including CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray Discs and HD DVDs. Currently there is no information available on Nero website about the product nor about prices.
