According to the website Tech-On, Panasonic announced the release of Blu-ray media with 6x writing speed, available initially from September in Japan. As reported in the news, six models of write-once discs will be available, both 50-Gbyte double-layer and 25-Gbyte single-layer media.
Currently no information is available about prices, nor about the availability in other places than Japan.
