New FireBurner version has finally been released, better drive support

damiandimitri used our news submit to tell us that a new FireBurner
version has finally been released. In February of this year we saw the last
update (version 2.1.7) but today we can find a new version on IgD's CD-R
Portal.

FireBurner is a compact burning software and
allows you to burn data and audio compilations. Lately FireBurner has been gaining some support on our
forums for its ability to burn the SafeDisc
2.8 protection correctly:

Today,
FireBurner V2.20 for Windows has been released. This is a
taste of things to come. Here are a few key points:

  • We are now using our own MP3 decoder that is
compiled into the Exe file. The result is the FireBurner.exe is smaller!
The MP3 decoder is cross platform and already runs under Linux. We plan
to release an update for the FireBurner Linux Editon
    soon!

  • We tweaked the drive detection routines, fixed
drive speed settings and added a Device Detection Log. This will make it
easier to help us add support for your new devices.

  • We cleaned up the user interface significantly. We
made the burn/test burn stuff more obvious and added an ask on exit
    dialog.

If you want to download this latest FireBurner version then you
can do so via this link.
Please discuss the software in our Recording Software Forum.
