The guys from
the firmware page have released a hacked firmware for the Pioneer A05/105 that
speeds up the reading speed of CSS protected DVDs. The CSS protection on DVD is
used to prevent unauthorized duplication of movies, and can be circumvented with
the famous DeCSS software. The Pioneer drive had a limited reading speed for CSS
protected discs and the new firmware allows up to 8x reading as where most users
reported up to 2x before. This will save a lot of time for Pioneer users. More
