Teac has send us a press release of 2 new small copy stations, the Pico-1 (1: 1 copystation) and the Pico-4 (1: 4 copystation). The stations are equipped with a 24 speed CD-ROM drive and, depending on the model, up to four 8x/8x/24x CD-RW drives.
1:1 Slimline copy station: |
The smallest of the Teac copystations, the Pico-1 has an ATAPI-IDE CD-RWE drive of the CD-W28E type and a slimline ATAPI IDE CD-ROM drive of the CD-224e type, which reads data at a 24x speed. With 8x speed the writer provides solid performance in the write and rewrite modes. The data transfer speeds of the CD-W28E of up to 1.2 MB/s with write and rewrite and 3.6 MB/s with read are also quite remarkable. The 2 MB buffer and the tried and tested Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of 60,000 hours combine to ensure optimal burning results.

In comparison with the Pico-1, the Pico-4 model is equipped with a 3 additional CD writers, giving the Pico-4 the performance of a CD-ROM drive of the CD-224E type and a total of 4 CD-W28E drives. This enables CDs in small-scale operation to be produced quicker and easier.
The copy station Pico-4 is a small box with 4 black drives, 2 buttons on the top of the box and a small display. For those who don't have much room, need to duplicate a lot of CD-R's and don't want to use their PC for that, this is quite a nice device to get.
