New bitsetting firmwares for NEC 3530 and 3540

Liggy, our
expert for patching the firmware of NEC DVD+/-RW drives used our
news submit
to let us know that he has successfully added the bitsetting function to
the firmware for the NEC 3530 and 3540 DVD+/-RW drives.

Liggy added:
3540 firmware has already been successfully tested, 3530 firmware is untested at
the moment of this news submit.


 





Since I always like to have NEC firmwares with full bitsetting
support, I decided to modify the NEC 3530 firmware version 3.01 and the
NEC 3540 firmware version 1.01 and add the bitsetting code from a MadDog
3520 firmware.Please consider that these are highly experimental firmwares
that may still have some bugs. If you damage your drive by flashing these
firmwares, neither me nor CD Freaks can be held responsible for this
damage.
