All you
NEC drive owners out there that have hit the region code limit on your drives,
have a new alternative. In the past, these drives like most, have a finite
number of times that you can reset the region code. Once the limit was reached,
for all practical purposes that was it and maybe you were stuck with a region
code that was inconvenient for our next project. That is an annoyance for sure,
so Liggy, our site administrator and NEC Forum Moderator has discovered how to
create a tool that will lift this restriction. Somebody give him a light!
can be used. Once you have no region code changes left, the "Reset" button is activated. By pressing this button you are able to issue the command that NEC would use to give you 5 more changes. Once all 4 vendor resets are used, you would be stuck with the last region you set. But now instead of the "Reset" button, you can now press the "Global Reset" button which modifies some values in your drive in such a way that it behaves as if a region has never been set before. |
