Now DVD upscaling for Sony Bravia TVs

Yesterday Sony announced the introduction of three new features to their Bravia HDTV line. The so-called 'three adaption modules' will allow wireless transmission to multiple TVs, 1080p DVD upscaling and the addition of multiple HDMI outputs.

Each module is actually an upgrade better known by Sony as a "Link". Every upgrade has a different price tag.  “Each link module conveniently integrates into the TV's menu system for easy use while eliminating the need for another set-top box, component or remote control,” Sony's VP Jeff Goldstein explains.

DVD Link is the module that allows DVD upscaling. It attaches to the back of your Bravia TV and costs $200. To allow wireless transmission to multiple TVs you will have to pay $800 and finally $150 for four extra HDMI inputs.

"Now you can customize compatible flat-panel Bravia HDTV sets with great features without reconfiguring your entire home theater set up," Goldstein says.
