It has been reported that the number of legal music services worldwide has broken the 100+ barrier. The music industry made the announcement as they celebrated the first anniversary of its download education site pro-music.org. The site is there to educate users on the various legal music services as well as the industry's standpoint on music downloads. A music industry boss said when Pro-music.org first launched there were only 20 legal downloading music services that offered around 200,000 downloadable songs, now there are over 100 that offer 500,000 downloadable songs. The music industry was heavily criticised due to its slowness to react to the demand of download music services but this has all changed now according to the representative.

There may be more tracks and more legal services but the music should be cheaper as all, what we are getting are files not cds or posters that may come with cd's. Legal music services still aren't value for money that's compared to normal cd's make it cheaper and it will really take off. Also 500,000 songs inst that much compared to the many songs you can obtain through legal services more songs need to be moved onto legal services.
