One of Europe's biggest hacker died.

This man was one of the oldskool hackers and the founder of the German Chaos Computer Club (CCC).

Before normal people heard of the word hacker Wau Holland founded the Chaos Computer Club (CCC).

Yesterday Wau Holland died at the age of 49 after a heart-attack.

Controversial was the hack in Europe in 1984, when Holland discovered a flaw in the videotext-system BTX (owned by the German state at that time). He informed the German authorities on it but they didn't respond to the warning of Holland so he hacked the system and demonstrated it in the German media.

The CCC still hacks by the principle of Wau Holland.

Never hack for own profit and bring out all the leaks and flaws discovered to the media.

This was respected by the company's and the German police who invited the CCC to give them lectures.
