In spite of the war between Blu-ray and HD-DVD, the DVD player market is still alive and is producing a lot of quality players that are a good alternative to next generation optical formats. Because of the lacking of component video output, this player is a good choice only if you already have a 1080p TV, to enjoy Hi definition while waiting for the end of the war to decide which format to buy.
