Panasonic announces new HD camcorder

Two camcorders were announced by Panasonic last Tuesday. Will these two kick Canon from its throne? Both models offer image-stabilization and 1920x1080 progressive recording and are featuring Leica lenses.

There is no difference in design, but the higher-end model can store to a SD card or its 60GB hard drive. This gives the HDC-HS9 a total capacity of 29 hours of HD-quality film. The HDC-SD9 can only save to the SD card.

The release date is set for March 2008 and the camera will cost you either $800 or $1100 depending on the model.

Check this website in March if you want to get more information.
