Philips announces two new mobile audio players


The dutch technology company Philips has anounced two new mobile audio players. Both devices are very small and have a very low weight.

PhilipsThe Micro Audio Jukebox HDD060 has capacity for 375 MP3 or 750 WMA files on its 1.5 GB harddisk. The device is smaller than a credit card, only 1.8 cm small and weights 95 gramms. Files can be transfered via an USB interface, the device can also be used as an external harddisk drive.

The new Audio Jukebox HDD120 wants to impress with its huge capacity. The 20 GB harddisk can store about 5000 MP3 or 10,000 WMA files. The device is equipped with an USB 2.0 interface for file transfer but it is also ready for own recording via the analog and digital inputs or the builtin microphone. The recorded audio will be converted into MP3 by the builtin encoder.

Both devices will be available from January 2004. The HDD060 will cost 280 Euro, the HDD120 about 450 Euro.
