On the German Philips website we can find a
PDF-document in which the company announces that they will introduce a new DVD player
during the IFA conference, world's largest consumer electronics exhibition held
in Berlin, Germany. The DVD player, model DVD 737, will be the second player on
the market, besides the KiSS' DP-450 DVD player that was introduced last
year, that will support the DivX 3.11, 4x and 5x formats:

As you can see from the specifications the DVD
player can be upgraded with new software whenever a new DivX codec is released.
Unfortunately the player will not support other popular encoding formats such as
